Welcome all sports fans

Women in sport

Name a famous footballer. Now name a famous tennis player. Why not name a famous golfer as well? The chances are that the answers you would have come up with will have been male names. Why is that? It is due to the publicity generated by these male dominated sports. However, if you dive in to the history records you will discover that sportswomen are just as much a part of these sports as the sportsmen are. For every Billy Bremner there is a Mia Hamm, for every Pete Sampras there is a Billy Jean King and for every Tiger Woods there is an Annika Sorenstam.

The aim of this website is not to put women athletes in competition with men but simply to highlight the levels of physical activity we can achieve when we peak in our chosen field of sport. Whether you are a woman athlete representing your country or a sports enthusiast who likes to jog, play tennis or participate in marathons during your spare time, we are the site for you! We do not just focus on the perceived main sports either, we encourage participation for everything from competitive dancing to female wrestling.

While we focus on womens' sports and the issues which arise from them it should be noted that we do not discriminate against men. They are welcome to view this site, make comments and support us in any way possible. All we ask is for respect in honour of the sporting victories we have achieved both on and off the field.
